Paris, July 18
July 19, 2008
Today we did a bit more of the sight seeing around Paris – mainly around the Champs Elysses. We walked the 250-odd stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and spent a good hour or so up there just taking in the view and taking photos. Unfortunately it’s still a bit light at 10pm so the sparkling of the Eiffel tower wasn’t as bright as it would have been had it been a bit darker – by the time it got to 11pm and it started sparkling again the Arc had closed and we’d had to go back downstairs. Not to worry, a 2e bottle of wine and a 1.6e bottle of Duvel (couldn’t believe that – it’s about A$8 back home) and we spent the rest of the night hanging out around the Champs Elysses and the Louvre.
